Fees for Spring Term 2009 dance classes must be returned on or before 14th December 2008.

Enrolment day is Sunday 14th December 2.00-4.00pm at Grafton. This is a good opportunity to discuss any issues with your child's teacher as well as pay your fees.

The office will be closed from Wednesday 17th December 2008 until Monday 5th January 2009.

Term recommences on Monday 5th January 2009.

EXAMINATIONS

If your child is ready to take an examination, they will be given a letter in class before the end of term.

UNIFORM AND HAIR

Please note that from January 2009, all children will be expected to wear the new uniform. This was detailed in the September newsletter. Please ask your child's teacher if you are unaware of the changes and they will be able to provide an amended list. Duo dance can also advise as long as you know the correct name of your child's class!

Please ensure that long hair is suitably tied back for all dance classes. A bun is expected for PP2 ballet +. If you do not know how to do a bun, please look at the notice board at Grafton, or ask your child's teacher. If your child has a fringe and needs to wear a headband, it should be a specific ballet headband (available from Duo Dance) and should match the colour of the leotard.

Please note: vests and pants should not be worn under leotards! If your child is cold, they need a ballet cardigan to match their leotard.

LATENESS POLICY

Please observe the GDA lateness policy:

Nursery 1, 2 & 3, Preparatory dance and tap, Pre-primary 1 ballet and Pre-primary tap

Children will be allowed into the class if they are up to 10 minutes late; after 10 minutes of the class, they will not be allowed in.

Pre-primary 2 ballet, Primary tap, Primary modern and upwards (examination classes)

The teacher will decide whether a child who is late can participate in the class. The teacher's decision will depend upon:

How late the child is

How often the child has been late before

The stage of the class and exercises planned for the remainder of the class

How close the lesson is to the examination/presentation/show date

This is for safe dance practise and for the benefit of all the other children in the class; please respect the teacher's decision.
